About

I’m Natalie Lodico, a freelance photographer, traveling vagabond and constant hunter for my next fascinating image. My photographs are minimally posed and more like a conversation between you, my camera and the light. I want to know who you are and how best to really show the "youiest" you possible! I love to just sit on the floor and play, crack jokes to get that special smile, help you feel confident enough to meet the camera face on. I want you to love what we create together. Here's some are testimonials that get to the heart of what I do:

"Photolodico is really interested in who you are and getting that in the photos. I felt very myself when she shot me."
-Linnea Minich

"Natalie has a unique gift for really seeing her clients. Her photos of me are some of the few I've seen in which I can really see myself. Additionally she's awesome to work with and intent on getting flattering shots, showing a true understanding of the play of light, angles and the way that bodies move." -Catherine Morris

"[Natalie's] love for photography is evident at every shoot, and her ease behind the camera makes it easy to act naturally. Her careful work meant I had no worries about getting the photos I wanted on my wedding day, and her skill at dealing with people kept our families from overwhelming us, so we could focus and relax. She's flexible and eager to provide what her customer desires: we did engagement shoots in both Washington, D.C. and Appomattox, VA, and she was easygoing and efficient. I have no doubt we'll be using her again!"
-Lynnette Fields

"It was so much fun to work with Natalie. She is a bright and energetic photographer who has a great ear to understand what you want and a great vision to make it happen. My fiance and I did part of our engagement shoot with her in D.C. Lots of people do pictures with monuments, but thanks to her creativity, we got a lot of the cool architecture and colors, but with a very unique feel that lacked the dominating presence of the facades and statues, and even more importantly, the crowds. " -Michael Underwood

"Photolodico is very talented at grasping a part of life that often goes unnoticed, or is only thought of in the moment and rarely captured." -Hannah Tuggy

"We wanted some fun, romantic shots with classic D.C. backgrounds for our anniversary and Natalie delivered! I can't stop looking at the great photos she took. She was also fun and friendly to be around for a few hours while we took shots. Now, the problem is how many to frame!"
-Lindsey Roberts

"Natalie has a great eye for what makes a good photo, and is very tactful in dealing with [wedding] guests, which is important." -Evan Donovan

"My session with Photolodico was fun and laid-back in the best way. Before I knew it, I was standing on desks and spinning around in dusty corners. She has a gift to make one feel at ease as well as think creatively on her feet. She can make a photoshoot out of anything... and I didn't even have to clean my house." -Lauryn Higgins

"Her love for natural light and the simple physicality of rest and motion comes through in beautifully unique glimpses of real life." -Bekah Tuggy

"One of the things stressing me about my wedding was the logistics of getting family photos of everyone in between the wedding and the reception. Natalie was super efficient and very fun to work with: in no time at all we were on our way to the reception to rejoin our guests! We've gotten some great comments on our photos, too, and look forward to treasuring these captured moments for years to come." -Sarah Funke Donovan

"I've never worked with a photographer who was so together, so efficient, so likeable, or had such a good eye and sharp trigger finger... I've been in or coordinated 16 different weddings, and attended waaaay more: but I've never worked with a photographer who communicated as much warmth and genuine interest into capturing the guests as the they did into shooting the wedding party." -Meredith Hutchison Hartley

"I love working with Natalie... She knows what she wants and is open to new and fun ideas. She knows how to be serious and get things done but she also knows how to have a good time. But perhaps the best thing about Natalie is that she does a great job making YOU feel comfortable - this makes for some amazing photo chemistry!" -Amy Sue Austen

I travel constantly for shoots, but my main hubs are the Cleveland/Akron areas of north eastern Ohio, Mid-Michigan, and Chattanooga, Tennessee. If you are close to one of these places I'll be near you at some point every few months at least so let me know if you want to be alerted. I am also always ready to hop on a plane and fly wherever.

My favorite photographs are family snapshots. When I was little I could spend hours going through my parents photo albums. I was really shy about photography for a long time. I would buy disposable cameras trying not to draw attention to myself and how much I loved taking pictures. When I got to college I finally took a class that changed my life completely. My formal training is very traditional, based on time in the dark room and studying art from the ancient to the very now. My BA is in Art concentrating in photography. I believe photography contributes to art as a whole and our understanding of the the past is integral to where we are going. Also, it's just really fun and makes me happy and connected to myself and the world around me in a way nothing else does. It's my vocation and my play and both aspects are represented in my gallery. It's incredibly serious and not at all. It's an epic haiku.
